Extending their unbeaten streak to three consecutive games, St Louis CITY2 begins a three-match road trip on Wednesday night against Colorado Rapids 2. Kickoff between CITY2 and Rapids 2 is at 8 p.m. CST at the University of Denver.

CITY2 raised their unbeaten streak to three games following an impressive 2-0 victory over then second-place Houston Dynamo 2 on Saturday night at Ralph Korte Stadium. CITY2 found the back of the net from midfielders Vitor Dias and Celio Pompeu. On the defensive end, Ian McGrane tallied his first career clean sheet on four saves.

Colorado Rapids 2 enter Wednesday’s match on a five-game skid, being outscored 19-3 during the stretch. Rapids have struggled on the offensive end, tallying just eight goals with four different goal scorers in nine matches. Darren Yapi leads Rapids 2 with three goals on 22 shots in eight matches started. Abraham Rodriguez is the mainstay between the posts, tallying 3.38 goals against average with 24 saves and an 0-7-1 record.

Dias continued his strong run of form, scoring a goal for the third consecutive match in a row. He raised his season total to four, which is one shy of Josh Dolling’s team lead of five. All three of Dias’ goals over the last three games have been the match’s opening goal, scoring in the second minute against Portland, 46th minute against San Jose, and the 28th minute versus Houston. CITY2 is 3-0-1 when Dias finds the back of the net.
