After tasting defeat for the first time in seven games last weekend against Colorado Rapids 2, St. Louis CITY2 (9-3-2, 30 points) are back on the road to face Minnesota United FC 2 (6-4-3, 24 points). Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. CST at National Sports Center Stadium and can be seen live on mlsnextpro.com.

In their last match, CITY2 trailed for most of the match after being on the wrong end of a penalty call in the third minute of the match. Despite the result, CITY2 dominated the match, outshooting their opponents 20-4 while winning 16 corners in the process. Forward Karson Gibbs scored his first professional goal and Anthony Faupel made his professional debut.

Despite the loss, CITY2 are still sitting at second place in the Western Conference standings after North Texas SC lost 4-2 to Sporting KC II. The result from last week means that North Texas SC and CITY2 remain tied at the top of the Western Conference, with North Texas sitting at the top through goal difference.

Minnesota United FC 2 put on a strong performance in Week 15, shutting out Whitecaps FC 2 at home. The team sits in sixth place in the standings, just three points off the playoff spot with a game in hand. When the two teams faced off earlier in the season, Minnesota earned a 4-0 win, handing CITY2 their first loss after the team played 120 minutes in their U.S. Open Cup match against Louisville City FC a few days earlier.

Minnesota United FC 2 (3-1-1) has only lost one game at home this season while CITY2 (4-0-1) has been on a tear on the road all year. With CITY2 aiming to get back to winning ways and Minnesota United FC 2 fighting to take hold of a playoff spot, fans can expect a thrilling encounter.
